‘December Boys’ movie trailer starring Daniel Radcliffe July 17, 2007Posted by grhomeboy in Movies.
Watch the trailer for Daniel Radcliffe’s new movie December Boys, which is scheduled for release in September by Warner Bros.
Based on the classic Michael Noonan novel, December Boys is the story of four orphan teenagers growing up behind the closed doors of a Catholic convent in outback Australia during the 1960s. As the boys watch younger kids get adopted by loving families, they begin to realize that as they get older, their turn may never come. When the convent sends the boys to visit the seaside one summer, they finally have something to look forward to.
While at the seaside, the boys meet a young couple unable to have children, who would make the perfect parents. The eldest of the boys, Maps, finds himself drawn to Lucy, a beautiful girl from down the coast. Competing to be the most adoptable, the rest of the boys, Sparks, Misty and Spit, severely test their friendships as long gestating feelings of rejection explode to the surface.
The bonds of friendship eventually overcome the rivalries, sealing forever the strong ties that bind the December boys as they learn the real meaning behind friendship, family and love.
December Boys is directed by Rod Hardy, adapted from Noonan’s novel by Marc Rosenberg, and stars Daniel Radcliffe as Maps, Christian Byers as Spark, Lee Cormie as Misty, James Fraser as Spit, Teresa Palmer as Lucy, and Jack Thompson as Bandy McAnsh.

Rolling Stones’ private gig for bankers July 17, 2007Posted by grhomeboy in Music.
The Rolling Stones increased their riches by performing a private gig for 500 bankers.
The band reportedly got a whopping 4 million pounds for the 80-minute show. The rockers performed at a Deutsche Bank party in Barcelona’s Catalan National Art Museum.
Band member Sir Mick Jagger expressed his thanks to the bankers for asking them to perform and quipped that the show was a result of the bonuses the bankers had received.
“Thank you for having us. The best part is, it’s coming out of your bonuses,” the Mirror quoted Jagger, as saying.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that English actor and co-star Gary Oldman helped him get through his nude scenes in London play Equus.
Gary Oldman helped coax Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe through his nude scenes in London play Equus after the teenager came to him for advice. The young actor admits he was extremely nervous about baring all onstage and felt sure Oldman’s experience could help him.
He tells men’s magazine Details > ”I was nervous and I was a little bit worried… I talked to Gary Oldman about it, because we get on very well and I know he’s been naked onstage. “I said to him, What’s it like? and he said, On the first night you’ll be terrified and on the second night you’ll be terrified, and after that you won’t care. And that’s absolutely true. When you’ve done it twice, it doesn’t matter anymore.”
Radcliffe reveals he was so committed to the play and remembering his lines he didn’t have to worry about getting an erection onstage during sex scenes with co-star Joanna Christie. He adds > ”It’s the least arousing process… Jo’s beautiful, but after you’ve gone through it a hundred times with an audience there… To be honest, when you get naked in front of 900 people, quite the opposite happens.”
Radcliffe promises to be a good boy > July 17, 2007Posted by grhomeboy in Movies.
> but he’s not 18 yet
For all his brave talk about welcoming the attentions of pretty girls, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe seems to be pretty well-behaved, for a rich 17-year-old movie star. Turns out this is his deliberate policy, as he explained to Entertainment Weekly mag.
“What everybody would love to see is me having ditched school and then just going wild. That’s what I’m determined not to give them.”
He’ll be 18 this month, on July 23.
Harry Potter gets a dairy makeover July 17, 2007Posted by grhomeboy in Movies, Pop Culture.
Sarah Pratt is a wiz with butter. Just ask her next subject, Harry Potter.
The character will get his likeness carved in the stuff and be placed in a refrigerated glass case next month at the Iowa State Fair, next to the traditional butter cow.
“The marketing department at the fair and I were looking for something that would be a timely pop-culture thing to do, and with the new movie and new book coming out, it seemed appropriate,” said Pratt, 30, a special education teacher.
She expects her dairy Potter to look more like the character depicted on the book covers than Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the boy wizard in the movies. Visitors can expect to see Harry’s trademark glasses and scar, but Pratt said she still deciding on a pose.
The butter cow is a state fair tradition, and it’s typically accompanied by a more topical, pop-culture-themed sculpture. Last year, Pratt crafted a butter Superman, when Iowan Brandon Routh starred in the newest version of the film.
The fifth installment in the “Harry Potter” film series, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” opened last week. This year’s Iowa State Fair runs from August 9-19.
