If you weren’t able to make it to Berlin for the World Cup, or maybe you prefer arts to sports, consider a trip to take in the city’s fall art events.

The 11th annual Art Forum Berlin, an international trade fair for contemporary art, takes place September 30 to October 4. The fair features 129 galleries from 25 countries, including 13 galleries from the United States.

Works by both established artists and newcomers range from photography to multimedia installations.

Experts will speak on various issues at ”Art Forum Berlin Talks” and other museums, galleries and clubs will host events related to the fair. Details at www.art-forum-berlin.com.

The Bode Museum is also scheduled to reopen this fall, with renovations expected to be completed by October 18. The museum is located on Museum Island. Its collection includes Byzantine art, Germany’s largest sculpture exhibit, ancient coin collections and a children’s gallery.
