Sports fans travelling to Orlando this festive season will be able to see the spectacularly fruity show that is the Orlando Citrus Parade.

The event is held on December 30th in downtown Orlando and is one of the largest sports parades in the US.

It traditionally celebrates the holiday season and serves as the precursor to the Champs Sports Bowl and the Capital One Bowl, both college American football games.

Tens of thousands of people line the streets of the city to witness the astonishing sight of floats decorated with all manner of citrus fruits, including oranges, tangerines and grapefruits. These floats travel along a two-mile parade route and are accompanied by a celebrity grand marshal, performing college and high school bands, and a range of other entertainment for all the family.

With thousands more sports fans watching the event on television across the globe, the parade is extremely high-profile and is set to be even more popular in its 26th year.
