Here’s a bit of trivia.

Did you know that the Great Pyramid was the world’s tallest building for over 5,000 years until its height (not its massive bulk) was overtaken in 1889 by the Eiffel Tower?

The Ancient Egyptians built structures which were grand, massive, artistically ornate and built to last.  The Great Pyramid is the only one of the seven great wonders of the Ancient World which stands today. In ancient Egypt buildings were designed to align with the stars and to awe the people in ancient times as they still do today. The symbols of Pharonic majesty and artistry from Egypt’s distant past continue to inspire tourists today.

Here is some more: I have read somewhere that when people had to decide and to plan the meridian system, one of the proposals for where the main meridian should pass was for the Great Pyramid in Guisa, because it is exactly on the nowadays 30th meridian.
