Sex with a disabled minor > Nurse fired for having sex with a minor

A nurse, which worked part time in an institution for young disabled people, was fired for having sex with a patient in the institution. The event happened in Japan in 2002, but the boy and his family kept quiet until 2005 because they feared the boy would not be accepted into any other institution. The nurse had her work permit revoked.

Children keep quiet because they are ashamed. Most often, children are threatened to keep quiet, so they feel ashamed. They fear that something bad will happen to their family and that nobody will believe them, they are afraid of the consequences. Abuse can be physical, sexual or psychological. Ignorance is also counted as a type of abuse.

Signs that you can see on the children are: unexplained bruises on their face, neck, and other parts of the body (often hidden), cigarette burns, changes in behavior (aggression, depression, they keep to themselves…), too much fear of their parents, bloody clothes, promiscuity and seductive behavior, nightmares, food disorders and many more.

Every abuse leaves psychological and emotional scars. If the children grew up in that environment, they are left with a feeling of worthlessness, betrayal, fear and distrush towards others. Without the developed awareness of adults, some children will never receive needed help. That is why it is good to know the listed signs.
